This Excel template organizes and structures the process of Plant Layout and Facility Planning using the concepts of FacPlan and Systematic Layout Planning (SLP).  As the layout team progresses through the tasks of the FacPlan system, the template assists with the following tasks:

1. Define The Space Planning Units (SPU) or Activity Areas
2. Calculate Space Requirements
3. Identify Non-Flow Affinities
4. Calculate Material Flow Affinities
5. Merge Flow and Non-Flow Affinities
6. Prepare Configuration Diagram
7. Prepare Layout Primitive
8. Identify Constraints
9. Design Factory Layout Options
10. Select The Preferred Option

Repetitive data carries over from one form to the next. The template calculates space and affinities. It organize the decision process using a weighted factor method and calculates option scores.For more information on the use of these forms, refer to Mr. Lee's book: Facilities and Workplace Design. The files download in a "ZIP" file which you can "unzip" with Winzip or similar utilities.
